Classic Car Auctions moves to new venue and Saturday sales

Silverstone Auctions’ offshoot Classic Car Auctions will hold future regular sales at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre, near Leamington Spa. And, in response to buyer and seller feedback, the auctions will take place on Saturdays rather than Tuesdays.

General Manager of CCA, Guy Lees-Milne, said: ‘At CCA, excellent customer service is important to us in ensuring the buying and selling experience is enjoyable. We are committed to maintaining a great relationship with our buyers and sellers and are delighted to provide a new and convenient location.’

The Midlands-based exhibition centre will provide enough space to display up to 120 cars, and offers parking for up to 2,000 visitors.

New dates for CCA’s upcoming bi-monthly sales have been announced as 6 June, 29 August, 31 October and 12 December.

The August sale won’t be held in Warwickshire. It is a special auction at TV celebrity Chris Evans’s CarFest South event at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire to raise money for Children in Need. The CCA CarFest sale will feature around 100 remarkable cars, celebrity auctioneers and a number of charity lots for which 100% of the hammer price plus fees will be donated to the charity.

CCA is taking over the sale slot from Silverstone Auctions, which hosted sales at the 2012 and 2013 CarFest events, raising more than £250,000 for the charity.

Plenty of cars with famous connections were sold at the previous CarFest auctions, including Chris Evans’s Jaguar XJS V12 HE coupe, which sold for £4,838, a 1981 Mercedes-Benz 280SL once owned by Roger Daltry (sold for £16,875) and Dodi Fayed’s Ferrari Mondial (£26,438).
